When things fall apart: Sleep deprivation impacts your health

Any here is the thing, you can eat a perfect diet and take all the right supplements, but if you are not sleeping well and managing your stress, all bets are off.

Getting less than 6 hours sleep per day is associated with low-grade chornic inflammation and worsenining insulin resistance, as well as increased risk for obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease(CVD). One-third of the western adults gets less than six hours of sleep.

Inadequate rest impairs our ability to think, to handle stress, to maintain a healthy immune system and to moderate our emotions, it's associated with hearth disease, hypertension, weight gain, diabetes, and wide range of psychiatric disorders including depression and anxiety.

I do firmly believe that lack of sleep and stress asre two of the biggesthealth challanges we face today. There is no doubt that a clean diet is the cornerstone of health, but it's much easier to make changes in diet than it is for them to improve their sleep and manage their stress.
